RT.REV. DR. JOSEPH PONNIAH HAS DECLARED A ‘YEAR OF HUMAN RIGHTS’ AT THE DIOCESAN PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING
Batticaloa diocesan pastoral Council meeting for 2013 was held at miani house, Thannamunai, Batticaloa, on 16th November.
“Human rights are something we all share. They are about recognizing the value and dignity of all people. In learning about human rights, we learn about ideas of respect, fairness, justice and equality. Human rights are what make freedom possible,†said the Bishop, making his announcement during Diocesan Pastoral Council at Miani Centre, Batticaloa.
